We started Geedesk in 2017 and it has been a professionally satisfying experience so far.
We solve a niche business problem which is to help hotels manage their guest complaints and requests.
During our initial days instead of spreading ourselves thin we decided to focus on the Indian market and build a company with strong financials and a good product that will help us in our growth journey.
Now that we have accomplished it, we feel it is the right time for us to expand our business outside India and go global.
Global Ambition
Geedesk is a saas product. Which means there is absolutely no need for hotels to purchase expensive servers and licenses in order to use it.
It also means that we can work with hotels across the globe. Saas software dims the boundary between nations and continents.
However it is not going to be a cake walk because as far as the Australian market is concerned we are relatively new and most of them would not have even heard about us.
Hence in the coming weeks we will have to sort out the niti-grities of letting our target audience know about our Australian presence and also the legalities around setting up the business, accepting payments and paying taxes.
Where are we going?
I have always been fascinated by Australia and its natural beauty. Almost every Indian has friends and family who live in Australia.
Other than its natural beauty, the business reasoning behind focusing on Australia is that it’s a small market when compared to other countries like the USA. So it will be easy for us to focus and build our overseas business.
I am sure this journey will be filled with lots of lessons to be learnt about life, business and entrepreneurship.
What are we offering?
Geedesk, a guest complaint and request management software for hotels is our flagship product and will be our primary offering.
The strategy of dealing with multiple products did not go well in India. It was counterproductive.
So since then we have retired, all our products are focusing solely on Geedesk.
Our next steps
Our SEO is sorted out. We are ranking on the first page for a number of keywords in Australia.
SEO is not the only thing that is required to build a presence in a new market. There are plenty of other things like building a brand, establishing Geedesk as a trustworthy company and so on.
End of the day we need to figure out a way to meet and onboard new hotels as our clients.
